Erching is a district of Hallbergmoos in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising .

geography

Erching is east of the Isar on the Isar high bank. The place borders in the northwest on the district Mintraching (Grüneck) of the municipality Neufahrn bei Freising and in the south on the district Fischerhäuser of the municipality Ismaning . The state road St2053 runs through the village.

History of Erching

Erching is one of the oldest documented places in the Freising district . In 750 the Fagana Erching family gave Joseph von Verona (748–764) from Freising . The later Bishop of Freising, Atto , wrote the donation letter, which was notarized by Duke Tassilo . Until the secularization, Erching belonged to the Hochstift Freising .

The oldest land register of the Hochstift around 1180 provides information about the agricultural use of Erching. A chapel is listed in the Conradin register from 1315/16 , a castle is first documented around 1400.

The most important buildings are the Erching Castle with the free-standing St. Walburga Castle Chapel on an island surrounded by the Schwaigbach .
