Erhard Bus (born November 2, 1953 in Windecken ) is a freelance German historian . His focal points include the development of content specifications for exhibitions, the creation of company and local chronicles , the writing of contributions on local and regional history and the implementation of lectures on historical topics.

The historian wrote, among other things, the chronicles on the history of the savings banks and the DRK in Hanau and Gelnhausen as well as the local chronicles of Kleinostheim and Klein-Auheim . He also curated the permanent exhibition in the Museum Jagdschloss Kranichstein near Darmstadt and two special exhibitions in the Historisches Museum Schloss Philippsruhe , Hanau. In 2018 he completed a new presentation on the Thirty Years War and the Hanau Union of 1818.

Also in 2018, Bus was able to publish a publication on the Hanauer Union and, in cooperation with the “Société Louis Appia” in Geneva, an exhibition on the life of Dr. Louis Appia , the Hanau-born co-founder of the international Red Cross movement .

Erhard Bus is currently working on a presentation of the events during the Thirty Years War in the Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg and - in the longer term - on the history of the town of Windecken.

Erhard Bus is a member of the working committee of the Hanauer Geschichtsverein 1844 eV He lives in Nidderau-Windecken.
