Erhard Frieß (* 1936 ) is a German organist , cantor , church music director and state trombonist .

biography

Erhard Frieß initially worked with the Windsbacher boys' choir as a voice trainer and organist (1961–1967). From 1967 to 1982 he was cantor and organist at the Oberhofenkirche in Göppingen. In 1983 he moved to Stuttgart to work with wind instruments and with trombone choirs . In 1985 he was appointed church music director and worked as a trombonist in the area of ​​the Evangelical Church in Württemberg . He was in charge of the trumpet work of the Evangelical Youth Organization of Württemberg . In January 2000 he handed over the office to Hans-Ulrich Nonnenmann . Between 1985 and 1999 Frieß was also head of the Swabian Trumpet Service and the Ulm State Trombone Day .

Works

A central standard work for the German trombone choir is the manual for trombone choir leaders , which Erhard Frieß published in 1995 together with Irmgard Eismann. Johann Sebastian Bach's chorales , which Erhard Frieß arranged for trombone choirs, are also important . The trombone chorale book for the Protestant hymn book was also published by Erhard Frieß (together with Barbara Barsch and Karl-Heinz Saretzki ) in 1993. It contains intonations and accompanying clauses.
