Erhard Kochale (born October 23, 1941 ) is a former German soccer player. For BSG Lok Stendal and SC Dynamo Berlin / BFC Dynamo , he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in the 1960s .

Athletic career

Erhard Kochale began his career in the GDR-wide football game as an 18-year-old in the second-rate GDR league with the company sports association (BSG) Rotation Babelsberg , for which he played three point games in 1960. At the beginning of 1961, the soccer section of the BSG Rotation was incorporated into the newly founded SC Potsdam . At the same time, GDR football was switched to the summer-spring season, and 39 games had to be played in the GDR league. Of these, Kochale completed 31 matches and scored 15 goals, with which he was the second best goalscorer of the sports club behind his teammate Heinz Dresler. In 1962/63, the game in the GDR league went back to normal with 26 games, and Kochale was able to maintain his position as a regular with 20 inserts and seven goals. For the 1963/64 season Kochale moved to TSC Berlin within the GDR league . Even in the new environment, he immediately played his way into the starting line-up, played 27 of the 30 league games to be played and with his 24 goals immediately became TSC's top scorer. At the beginning of the 1964/65 season it was announced in the press that Kochale had been elected as the new team captain of the TSC. Three days later this report was withdrawn and it was announced that Ulrich Prüfke was the new team captain. After Kochale had played the first two point games for TSC, he signed up at Club and joined the upper division BSG Lok Stendal.

Just three weeks later, Kochale played his first league game for Lok Stendal, was then used as a striker in all other league games until the end of the season and scored his first six league goals. Despite his successful debut in the top division of the GDR, he returned to East Berlin after a season and moved to the top division SC Dynamo Berlin. There, too, he immediately fought for a regular place in 1965/66 with 25 missions in 26 league games and with his eight goals was only surpassed by his teammate Waldemar Mühlbächer with nine goals at SC Dynamo (from January 1966 BFC). In the 1966/67 season Kochale was called up without interruption until the twelfth game day, but then suffered an injury that practically led to the end of his league career. In the season 1967/68, which the BFC spent after his relegation in the GDR league, Kochale was involved in the immediate league promotion with only one league game. in the 1968/69 season he played only once in the league and was instead used in the 2nd team that had been promoted to the GDR league.

In the summer of 1969 Kochale was fired from the BFC and transferred to the FSG Dynamo Frankfurt branch in the third-class district league . There he spent two seasons until the team rose to the GDR league in 1971. At the same time, the FSG was assigned to Fürstenwalde / Spree and then took on as SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde . With her Kochale played two seasons in the GDR league, where he played 37 games out of 44 points and scored two or six goals. For the 1973/74 season he returned to East Berlin and joined the district division NARVA Berlin . Also with the team of the light bulb factory Kochale made it back into the GDR league and completed another 20 league games there in 1974/75. With his five goals he was once again top scorer, but it was not enough for BSG NARVA to stay in the league. At the beginning of the 1975/76 football season, Kochale was 33 years old. As a game coach, he was still active for the East Berlin district league team Motor Weißensee for the next few years . During his time in the GDR-wide football game operation, he had come to 61 games in the league and scored 18 goals. In the GDR league he was used in 156 games and scored 60 goals there.
