Eric Bergkraut
Eric Bergkraut (born November 28, 1957 in St. Maur near Paris ) is a Swiss-French actor , director, author and film producer.
Life
Born in 1957 in St. Maur near Paris, Eric Bergkraut moved to Switzerland in 1961. From 1977 to 1980 he trained as an actor at the Zurich Acting Academy and can now look back on numerous theater, film and television engagements. From 1988 he wrote reports for the weekend supplement of the NZZ and from 1991 he worked as a freelancer for Swiss television. In 1992 Bergkraut began making documentaries which were shown all over the world. In 2007 he founded ps 72 productions GmbH with his partner and also works as a film producer. He was awarded the Vaclav Havel Prize for his film "Letter to Anna" about the murdered Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaja. In 2019 he made his comeback as an actor in the film WIR ELTERN, which he also directed and produced. The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and started a successful cinema career. Since October 2008 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Georges and Jenny Bloch Foundation .
Eric Bergkraut lives in Zurich and Paris. He is the father of three sons.
