Eric Butler (basketball player)
Eric Butler (born March 6, 1974 ) is a retired Canadian - British basketball player .
career
Butler, a 1.98 meter winger, was a student at Kerrisdale Elementary School in Vancouver . He was on the University of British Columbia basketball team from 1992 to 1997 . In terms of his scores there, the 1994/95 season was Butler's best when he scored 10.9 per encounter.
The first stop of his career as a professional basketball player was the French second division Poissy-Chatou in the 1997/98 season. At the beginning of the 1998/99 season he was only briefly under contract in Milton Keynes ( England ), then moved to the Clare Jets in Ireland . Then Butler played for the Austrian Bundesliga club Kapfenberg .
Between 2000 and 2002 he was under contract with UBC Mattersburg , where he scored an average of 16.2 points per encounter. In the 2002/03 season Butler played 29 league games for the German Bundesliga club EnBW Ludwigsburg , in which he scored an average of 6.6 points. In the summer break of 2003 he was signed by the German second division club Eisbären Bremerhaven . During the 2003/04 season he moved within the league from Bremerhaven to BBC Bayreuth . In his last year as a professional basketball player (2004/05) Butler belonged to the Austrian Bundesliga team Fürstenfeld Panthers .
In 2010, he founded a company in Vancouver that provides basketball training for teenagers. Joey Vickery became one of his business partners and associates .
