career

Fongué, who  comes from Dietikon and whose father comes from Cameroon , received his basketball training at BC KS Limmattal and GC Zurich Basketball. He had previously played handball at HC Dietikon-Urdorf. In the 2008/09 season he made his debut in the National League B at GC Wildcats and continued his basketball training from summer 2009 in the Spanish Canarias Basketball Academy, where he stayed for a year, followed by a short stop at the German club BG 74 Göttingen , before returning to the GC Wildcats, which in the 2010/11 season meanwhile competed in the National League A. "From an athletic point of view, he was one of the greatest talents that has ever trained in Zurich," Zurich's trainer Riet Lareida was quoted by the Tages-Anzeiger in November 2011 .

For the 2011/12 season, the 1.97 meter tall winger moved to Western Washington University (second NCAA division) in Bellingham near Seattle in the United States . There he took part in training, but was not used in any game. Fongué changed universities and was part of the team at Whatcom Community College, also located in Bellingham, from 2012 to 2014. In his second year there (2013/14 season) he achieved an average of 11.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per encounter, for the 2014/15 season he moved to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (second NCAA division). For the team, he played 26 games during the 2014/15 season and recorded an average of 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per encounter.

Due to injury, he only played ten NLA games in the 2016/17 season, during the 2017 summer break he was signed by Friborg's NLA rival Union Neuchâtel . Also due to an injury, Fongué was not used for Union and moved to BBC Monthey in January 2018 , for which he played eleven games until the end of the 2017/18 season.

At the beginning of July 2018, the NLA club Vevey Riviera Basket signed him. In the summer of 2019 he was signed by Basket-Club Boncourt .
