Andrew Holleran
Andrew Holleran is the pseudonym of Eric Garber (* 1944 ), an American writer , author and short story writer.
Holleran is a well-known novelist in the field of gay post-stonewall literature. He was a member of the Violet Quill , a gay writing group that met briefly in 1980 and 1981. The Violet Quill also included other very prolific writers such as Edmund White and Felice Picano . Garber, who protects his privacy very much, uses the pseudonym Andrew Holleran as an author .
Dancer from the Dance was Holleran's first novel in 1978. The novel is set in the nightclubs of New York City and Fire Island .
Holleran's second novel was Nights in Aruba and the third novel was titled The Beauty of Men . Holleran's final novel, Grief: a Novel , received the Stonewall Book Award in 2007 .
Holleran teaches creative writing at the American University in Washington, DC . He also publishes short stories in collections such as M2M: New Literary Fiction and ongoing articles in The Gay and Lesbian Review.
