Eric Loughran (born April 12, 1995 in Pelham , New Hampshire ) is an American freestyle skier . He specializes in the aerials (jumping) discipline.

Career

Loughran started in Mont Gabriel in February 2010 for the first time in the Nor-Am Cup and finished 26th and 23rd. He made his debut in the World Cup in January 2013 in Lake Placid , which he finished in 16th place. In January 2015 he achieved his first top Zen placement in the World Cup with fifth place at the Deer Valley Resort . He jumped to 16th place at the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada and finished 25th at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang the following year . In the 2018/19 season he made five World Cup appearances, three times in the top ten. He achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with third place in Shimao Lotus Mountain and seventh place in the Aerials World Cup at the end of the season. At the season highlight, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , he took 19th place. The following year he was American champion at Bristol Mountain Resort .
