Eric Luter

Eric Luter (born February 3, 1953 in Saint-Mandé ) is a French musician ( trumpet and vocals) of traditional jazz .

Luter is the son of the clarinetist Claude Luter . First he played banjo in a band that also included Olivier Franc and Daniel Huck ; at the same time he studied trumpet with Robert Pichereau (1918–1999). During the 1980s he was a member of the Cyril Jazz Band , where he played New Orleans Jazz . Then he founded the Ensemble Triocéphale , with which he interpreted swing songs in the 1990s in the tradition of Charles Trénet , Henri Salvador and Boris Vian and released four albums. He also recorded the CDs Sometimes I am Happy and Smile with jazz standards as crooner with his Eric Luter Swing Quartet . With the pianist Olivier Lancelot he also belonged to the Charles Prévost Washboard Group , with which the albums Roses of Picardie and Washboard Wiggles were created.

In 2001 he joined his father's orchestra, which he continued after his father's death in 2006. In 2011 he recorded an album with clarinetist and arranger Renaud Perrais, on which his father's compositions are performed in the style of Duke Ellington ( More Time Papa Orchestra joue Claude Luter ). He appears regularly in Parisian jazz clubs such as Le Caveau de la Huchette and played at numerous festivals in France and in other European countries.
