Eric Pfeil (* 1969 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German author , musician and songwriter .

Life

From 1999 to 2003, Pfeil worked as a TV producer for the music program Fast Forward . In the following years he developed the television formats Sarah Kuttner - Die Show or Charlotte Roche .

Pfeil wrote as a freelance author for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), Spiegel Online , Welt am Sonntag , GQ and Musikexpress, among others . From 2009 to 2012 he wrote his blog “Das Pop-Tagebuch” for the FAZ's online website. Since then, the pop diary has appeared in the German edition of Rolling Stone . In February 2010 his book Come, Let's Throw Drums In The Snow - The Pop Diaries .

In 2013, Pfeil released his debut single South and the album I've Never Made Much Out of the Day . His second album Die Liebe, der Tod, die Stadt, der Fluss was released in 2015. After the breakup of his backing band Der Süd, Pfeil performed live alone with the acoustic guitar. His third album "13 Living Rooms" was released on June 16, 2017. It is the first album in pop history that was recorded exclusively in foreign living rooms. A documentary film about the project was also made during the tour.

Eric Pfeil lives in Cologne in the Eigelstein district. He has a daughter (* 2002) with his former partner Charlotte Roche.

In 2014, Pfeil was awarded the Rocco Clein Prize for Music Journalism for his pop diary.
