Fast Forward (TV show)
Fast Forward was a television show hosted by Nkechi Madubuko , later hosted by Charlotte Roche , which specialized in music off the beaten track, with the preferred videos being played primarily in styles such as rock , independent and alternative . Even sophisticated pop could find its way into the show. The format started on VIVA Zwei . After the station was discontinued, the broadcast was continued on VIVA .
The music journalist Eric Pfeil , who later designed the Sarah Kuttner Show for VIVA and oversaw the head author, was the producer and the main person responsible for the content of the show . Together with Charlotte Roche , he shaped the tone and attitude of the show.
However, after the takeover of VIVA by the MTV parent company Viacom , the program managers decided to stop the program and instead show reality shows and other formats that the young people watch in front of the television. The reason given was the aim of reaching a broader target group . On January 2, 2005 , the last episode ran, a farewell show.
The program not only consisted of showing music videos , but lived mainly from the mostly lively presenter, who either commented on the videos directly or pondered the zeitgeist completely independently, often with a slight tendency towards the surreal. Fast Forward also presented selected festivals and concerts. Interviews with popular musicians were presented at irregular intervals, to which the following artists, among others, were invited:
- Robert Smith of The Cure
- Thom Yorke from Radiohead
- Adam Green
- Robbie Williams
- Justin Timberlake
- Marilyn Manson
- James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica
- Anthony Kiedis from Red Hot Chili Peppers
- The White Stripes
- Mike Skinner aka The Streets

- Craig Nicholls of The Vines
- Damon Albarn from Blur
- Tocotronic

- Bloodhound gang
- Sports fans Stiller
- Liam Gallagher from Oasis
- Garbage
- Slut
- The doctors
- Egoexpress
- Heike Makatsch

The musicians themselves, who otherwise do not like to give interviews, often enjoyed the interviews. Radiohead's Thom Yorke, known as the “journalists' fright” , was extremely impressed and in the end didn't want to leave.
