Eric Solomon

Eric Solomon , partly also Eric W. Solomon (* 1935 in Royal Sutton Coldfield ; died April 2020 in Ilford ), was a British game designer .

From 1954 to 1961 he studied physics, metallurgy and mathematics at the University of Southampton and Reading University . After receiving his doctorate in mathematics, he worked as a software developer and programmer for various computer companies in England. In 1965 he started his own business as a data processing consultant. In 1993 he was awarded the CIBSE Napier Medal .

Since 1972, Eric Solomon has invented numerous games and published some game books. His games are characterized by simplicity and clear structures. At the same time, Solomon attached great importance to an original and exciting design of his games, in which mostly tactical thinking and strategy are important.
