Erica Piccotti

Erica Piccotti (* 1999 in Rome ) is an Italian cellist .

Live and act

Piccotti first studied with Francesco Storino at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia , from the age of 14 at the Bern University of the Arts and since 2017 with a scholarship at the Kronberg Academy . She attended master classes with David Geringas , Julius Berger and Thomas Demenga, among others .

In 2013, President Giorgio Napolitano awarded her the Alfiere della Repubblica certificate for exceptional achievements by young artists.

She won numerous first prizes at national and international competitions, including 2014 in Zagreb at the Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition , second prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in 2017, at Jugend musiziert in Nuremberg and at the NYIAA Competition with a concert in Carnegie Hall in New York .

She has performed at the Alfredo Piatti International Cello Festival, the Rome Chamber Music Festival, the Chigiana International Festival and the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto.

As a soloist she played with "I Solisti di Zagabria", "Orchester I Pomeriggi Musicali", "Abruzzese Symphonic Orchestra", "Symphonic Orchestra of the Estado del México", "Orquestra Jovem Vale Música".

Piccotti worked with Antonio Meneses , Augustin Dumay , Julius Berger , Mario Brunello, Bruno Canino , Salvatore Accardo and Andrea Lucchesini , among others .

She currently (2019) plays a cello by Francesco Ruggeri (Cremona 1692).

In 2018 she released her first CD with the pianist Itamar Golan for the record company Warner Classics.
