The Erich Martens Stadium is a soccer and athletics stadium in the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Bünde in the Herford district .

Location and facilities

The stadium is located in the Ennigloh district to the west of Kloppenburgstrasse. The Erich Martens Stadium today has a capacity of 5,000 spectators, according to other sources 4,000 seats. On the straight line on the entrance side there are two standing steps that are covered by the roof of the social wing. The straight opposite has four uncovered steps. history

The Erich Martens Stadium was built in the 1950s and was initially the venue for SV Ennigloh 09 . This played in the 1952/53 season in the highest Westphalian amateur league and merged in 1973 with SG Bünde 08 to Bünder SV. In 1975 he was promoted to the Association League, the highest amateur league in Westphalia at the time. Three years later, the Bünder qualified for the newly created Oberliga Westfalen , to which the team belonged until 1981. An unspecified championship game against SC Herford in front of 6,000 spectators is the record number of spectators in the Erich Martens Stadium .

Bünder SV played three times as part of the DFB Cup in the Erich Martens Stadium. In the 1975/76 season the Bünder parted in the first round 2-2 after extra time from 1. FC Pforzheim . In the 1980/81 competition , the team beat Southwest Ludwigshafen 2-0 in the first round and SpVg Frechen 20 3-1 in the second round . Arminia Bielefeld played three games in the Intertotopokal in the Erich Martens Stadium in Graubünden. On June 26, 1982 Arminia parted from Widzew Łódź from Poland in front of 2,000 spectators with 1: 1.
