Erich Gliebe (* 1963 in Cleveland , Ohio State , USA ) is an American neo-Nazi activist and chairman of the right-wing extremist and racist National Alliance .

Origin and career

Gliebe is German-American , his father was a German citizen at the time of World War II and served in the Wehrmacht . According to his own statement, Gliebe was shaped by the National Socialist ideology of his father in early childhood and decided as a teenager to devote his life to “fighting for his own race”.

After his high school - completion Gliebe began a career as a professional boxer , who under the pseudonym fought "The Aryan Barbarian" ( "Aryan Barbarian"). In 1990 he suffered an elbow injury and thus retired from active fights. During this time he joined the National Alliance (NA) and after his recovery decided to give up professional sport and become politically active in NA. He made his living as a self-employed toolmaker .

Activity in the National Alliance

Gliebe joined the NA Cleveland branch. There he took over the chairmanship after a few years. He has been described by other activists as a "highly effective activist". He carried out his public relations work mainly through political speeches and recruiting measures. NA activists said Gliebe had a very high success rate in recruiting new members. Through efforts to strengthen cooperation with other greats on the international right-wing extremist scene, he was able to a. Engage David Duke and David Irving to speak at NA events.

After NA took over the right-wing extremist music publisher Resistance Records in 1999, Gliebe became its manager. He increased the income of Resistance Records , recruited new bands and organized far-right music festivals and concerts. According to Gliebe, the label only serves as a vehicle for political youth work.

Chairman of the National Alliance

Gliebe was elected chairman after the death of NA founder William Pierce in July 2002. However, under his leadership, NA went through a series of crises. Gliebe's decisions and statements irritated the members. This led to the splitting off of the National Vanguard organization in April 2005, which was dissolved again in 2007. Gliebe is still chairman of NA at this point in time.
