Erich Harden
Erich Harden , also Eric Harden , (born October 21, 1885 in Germany , † March 28, 1949 in Berlin ) was a German stage and film actor .
Live and act
In the middle of the first decade of the 20th century, Harden began a somewhat sensational life as a small actor as a guest artist on touring stages. Only rarely - especially not until the early 1930s - did he get a firm commitment to a house such as the Berlin theater, Großes Schauspielhaus (1930/31) or Das Theater der Jugend (1938/39). During the Second World War , Harden returned to touring theater with guest performance directors, but also appeared on provincial theaters in eastern Germany (from 1942 to 1944 in Graudenz and Marienburg). His post-war career was largely limited to an engagement at the Berlin Theater Neukölln. He died soon after at the age of 63.
The corpulent artist, who is only 1.70 meters tall, stepped in front of the camera early on - at an advanced age he was subscribed to the subject of character batches, comedians and pères nobles. In the winter of 1913/14 he worked alongside the Danish film star Asta Nielsen in the comedy Zapatas Gang , but then, interrupted by the First World War, did not continue his film activity until 1919. Erich Harden was a busy batch on screen throughout the 1930s: sometimes he played a consul or a club member, sometimes a dancer, a doctor or even a manufacturer. Erich Harden has not received any role offers from the cinema since 1940.
