The good sinner is a film comedy by the director Fritz Kortner from 1931. The literary film adaptation is based on a novel by the Soviet playwright Valentin Petrovich Katajew . In the main role , Max Pallenberg embodies the honest cashier Leopold Pichler. He is accompanied by Heinz Rühmann , who shortly before made his breakthrough with the comedy Die Drei von der Gasstelle .

action

The cashier Leopold Pichler, a sincere, loyal cashier in person, and his assistant Wittek are supposed to withdraw a large amount of cash from the bank. However, since both of their bosses have gone on a business trip to Vienna , the two travel after him to hand over the money.

Once in Austria , both succumb to the temptation to increase the amount of cash in their possession through risky stakes in casinos. It comes as it has to: the two lose. Both regret having used the money that didn't belong to them. Now the question arises how you can get the money back into your possession without your boss suspecting that the money has been misappropriated in the meantime.
