Erich Hoffmann (born August 8, 1932 ) is a former German soccer player who was exclusively active for FC Bayern Munich from 1949 to 1958 .

Career

Hoffmann belonged to the season 1949/50 the FC Bayern Munich as a goalkeeper at, for which he eight-point games in his first season Oberliga Süd denied. In the following season he was not used in a league game because he had a strong competitor in Werner Gutendorf ; so also in the following season, when he only played two point games. In the season 1952/53 and 1953/54 he completed eight and two point games. In the 1954/55 season he played 24 of 30 league games and had to concede 76 goals in only six wins by his team. Due to the poor performance, he was relegated to the 2nd Oberliga Süd with FC Bayern Munich for the first time - and one time until today . In this he contributed in all 34 point games to return to the Oberliga Süd . His penultimate season, 1956/57 , in which he played 16 point games, he crowned with his only title, winning the DFB Cup .

On August 4, 1957, he guarded the goal in a 4-1 victory in the elimination game at Spandauer SV in Berlin - as well as in the first eleven league games. Then the Hungarian refugee and five-time national goalkeeper Árpád Fazekas was his successor. With him, Bayern won the cup final against Fortuna Düsseldorf 1-0 in December , with which FC Bayern Munich won their second national title since 1932 - a success to which Hoffmann contributed with his start of the season.
