Erich Hohenberger

Erich Hohenberger (born June 24, 1948 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Hohenberger has been district chairman of the Vienna district of Landstrasse since 1989 .

Life

Hohenberger joined the Central Savings Bank of the City of Vienna in 1966 and trained as a banker. Before he switched to politics, his last position was as secretary to Deputy General Director Paul Höfinger. In 1985 Hohenberger took over the office of deputy district chairman in the Landstrasse district, and on December 14, 1989 he was sworn in as district chairman.

In addition to his political commitment, Hohenberger is also known as the president of Rennweger SV 1901 . In 2003 Hohenberger became infected with the Hanta virus , whereupon he suffered multiple organ failure. Hohenberger survived after four weeks in intensive care in the Rudolfstiftung and received a new kidney from his wife in autumn 2009.
