Erich Niedmann

Erich Niedmann (born May 26, 1868 in Munich , † January 5, 1905 in Kochel am See ), was a German painter.

Life

Hermann Friedrich Erich Niedmann, born as the second son of the Munich-based painter August Niedmann (1826–1910) and his wife Wilhelmine, née Michlenhoff, grew up in Munich and attended the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich from 1878 to 1883 . On October 15, 1884, his entry into the class of antiques at the Munich Art Academy, where he trained as a painter in mostly scenic surroundings, is documented with figural scenes. In 1894 he moved to Kochel am See, and settled in what is now Ried. He died in Kochel at the age of only 36.

Since 1892, Niedmann has sent his works to the Munich annual exhibitions in the Glaspalast, including the oil paintings Rest on the Flight and Boy with Dogs (1893), Singing Children (1895), Waldweg (1896), the pastels Am Hügel , Entenschirm and Ein Dorf (1898 ), the tempera paintings Weide and Abendläuten (1899) and two other pictures Am Wechsel (1901) and Abend (1902). The sponsoring association Galerie Markt Bruckmühl acquired his self-portrait as a hunter .
