Erich Rocholl (born October 10, 1901 in Opole , Upper Silesia , † October 7, 1978 in Isernhagen ) was a German association director , politician ( DP , later CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Erich Georg Walter Rocholl, son of Lieutenant Colonel Friedrich Rocholl and his wife Maria geb. Avenarius, graduated from the Dresden Kreuzgymnasium . He then worked at the Technical University of Dresden, initially as a working student and then studied mechanical engineering. He then completed a year of practical experience in the machine industry as a worker before studying law and political science in Tübingen , Berlin and Kiel . In 1925 he passed the economics diploma examination at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . He then became a member of the Institute for World Economy and Maritime Transport and worked as a research assistant in a non-parliamentary committee to investigate the sales and production conditions of the German economy. In 1927 he obtained in Kiel with his dissertation "Contributions to the theory of educational tariffs: Basics and limits of educational tariffs with special consideration of the methodology of the educational tariff theory" the degree of a doctor of political science.

From 1928 Erich Rocholl worked in Meißen and Chemnitz as managing director in various associations, including in the retail trade association and for the Saxon construction industry. He also maintained an office as an expert and accountant. In 1936 he became general manager of the Reichsinnungsverband des Baugewerbes, district office of Saxony, in Dresden. During the Second World War , in 1943, he also took on a position as head of department in the Berlin “Main Committee for Construction”. He and his family lost their existence in Dresden on February 13, 1945 in bombing raids.

After the end of the war, in 1947 in Hanover, he became general manager of the Lower Saxony State Guild Association of the Building Industry, and he also ran the business of the Central Association of the Local Building Industry in the British occupation zone . He headed the Lower Saxony building trade association as an association director until his age-related retirement at the end of 1969. In addition, he was a member of the supervisory board of the Hanoverian trust company for housing construction "Aufbau" and state labor judge.

From November 6, 1957, when he replaced Peter Tobaben , until 1967, Erich Rocholl was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. Initially elected for the German party , he joined the CDU on March 19, 1962 .

Honors

In October 1966, Erich Rocholl was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit . He was also the holder of the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany.
