Erich Schreiner

Erich L. Schreiner (born June 26, 1950 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) as well as a public accountant and management consultant. Schreiner was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1990 to 1998 and a member of the European Parliament between 1995 and 1996 .

education and profession

Schreiner attended the elementary school in Langenlois from 1956 to 1960 and then the Academic Gymnasium Melk until 1962 . He then moved to the Realgymnasium Krems until 1965 and from 1966 to 1970 he graduated from the higher federal teaching and research institute for viticulture and fruit growing in Klosterneuburg . After graduating from high school , Schreiner did military service between 1970 and 1971 and studied at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna from 1971 to 1972 . However, Schreiner then moved to the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 1972 and graduated in 1977 with the academic degree Mag. Rer. soc. oec. from. In addition, Schreiner had previously studied at the Buenos Aires University of Economics in 1974 , and in 1974 attended the "summer school" of the St. Gallen Business School. In 2008 he started his doctoral studies at the Paneuropean University in Bratislava and finished this in 2012, successfully graduating as a PhD.

From 1977 onwards, Schreiner initially worked as a trainee in an accountancy firm and became self-employed as an accountant in 1982. From 1984 and 1988, respectively, he was a partner in two management consulting companies and managing director of a management consulting company. He also worked as a tax advisor and partner in FPÖ housing companies. In 1999 he founded a cross-sector network for consulting with Euro-Consult GesmbH and has also been managing director of Schreiner & Schreiner Wirtschaftstreuhand GmbH in Krems, which emerged in 2003 from two previously independent individual law firms. In addition to these professional activities, he also held supervisory board functions at Hypo Niederösterreich in the housing company Finova AG, and he also acted as a controlling board member at Nordic International AG in Lucerne (Switzerland).

Between 1978 and 1980, Schreiner was the parish party chairman of the FPÖ Langenlois and from 1980 to 1981 he was a member of the local council of the city of Langenlois. Between 1980 and 1993 he also held the office of district party chairman of the FPÖ Krems and from 1990 he was regional party chairman of the FPÖ Lower Austria. He was also a member of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce committee. Schreiner represented the FPÖ between November 5, 1990 and May 7, 1995 in the National Council as finance spokesman and was also a member of this body on January 15, 1996 and between November 12, 1996 and May 13, 1998. Between January 1, 1995 and November 11, 1996 he was also a member of the European Parliament. In addition to his function as finance spokesman, Schreiner was also the economics spokesman for the FPÖ parliamentary club. After the Peter Rosenstingl affair became known , he resigned in 1998. He ran a joint company with Rosentstingl and was active as a consultant for FPÖ housing companies. His expulsion from the party was confirmed in the last instance by the party arbitration tribunal in 2002, and his membership of the ring of liberal businessmen has remained up to this day.
