Erich Wilhelm

Erich Wilhelm (born April 20, 1912 in Vienna ; † November 15, 2005 ibid) was an Austrian Evangelical Lutheran theologian . From 1972 to 1982 he was Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of A. B. Vienna .

Erich Wilhelm studied in Vienna, Germany and the United States . In 1936 he became a ministry ordained and began as a personal assistant priest at the Lutheran town church to work, where he then worked from 1945 to 1972 as a priest in Vienna. In 1955 Wilhelm became a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church A. B. and the General Synod of the Evangelical Church A. u. H. B. From 1963 to 1972 he worked as an extraordinary clergyman higher church councilor . In 1972 Erich Wilhelm was elected superintendent of the Vienna superintendent as the successor to Georg Traar . He held this office until 1982. Wilhelm also taught Protestant liturgy and Protestant hymnology as a university professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna .

Erich Wilhelm was married and had five children. His grave is at the Matzleinsdorf Evangelical Cemetery (group 4, number 107) in Vienna.
