Werner Horn

Werner Horn (born August 25, 1938 in Altenmuhr ) is an Austrian Evangelical Lutheran theologian of German origin. From 1982 to 2003 he was Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of A. B. Vienna .

Life

Werner Horn attended the Carolinum grammar school in Ansbach . From 1957 to 1962 he studied Protestant theology at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau , the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg . He also studied church music in Erlangen and Heidelberg . Werner Horn completed his vicariate from 1963 to 1964 in the Transfiguration Church in Vienna . He then worked as a pastor in the Heilandskirche in Amstetten until 1968 and in the Belief Church in Vienna from 1969 to 1982 .

On July 1, 1982 Werner Horn succeeded Erich Wilhelm as Superintendent of the Vienna Superintendent. In the same year he began to teach hymnology , liturgy and church studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In 2003 Horn retired from his church offices for reasons of age, including as chairman of the committee for worship and church music of the Evangelical Church AB in Austria as well as chairman of the hymn book commission and speaker for church music of the Evangelical Church A. u. HB in Austria . He is also a member of the Liturgical Conference of Germany and the Societas Liturgica . In 2005 he was elected as the successor to Karl-Christoph Epting as chairman of the working group of the Gustav-Adolf-Werke and Protestant Diaspora Works in Europe and Brazil. Werner Horn lives in Carinthia with his wife Gerlinde Horn .
