Erich Wunderwald (born September 16, 1903 in Ruppendorf ; † 1988 ) was a German dialect poet and speaker from the Saxon Eastern Ore Mountains .

Life

After attending school, he learned the trade of a shoemaker, but was soon working as a metal worker. Already in the years after the end of the Second World War he began to deal with the old Erzgebirge tradition of dialect speaking and poetry. As for Christmas in the small community Ruppendorf one with the then People's Choir and the village chapel Heimatabend was conducted Erich Wunderwald and some other sangesfreudige citizens to demand agreed to cooperate in. The singing community formed spontaneously from this jokingly called itself Ruppendorfer Ruinenspatzen . This gave rise to the later cultural group from the Ore Mountains . The Ruinenspatzen gave the first complete evening program in autumn 1946 under the motto of Anton Günther's Erzgebirgslied Wu de Walder . The success of this program led to numerous appearances in the neighboring towns. Gradually the home group began to expand its program. She not only remembered traditional songs from the Ore Mountains, but also added new songs to the programs. Especially in the Advent season, the performances of this Ore Mountains group increased, especially in the context of popular solidarity events and the FDGB holiday service for holidaymakers from near and far. In recent years, the Erzgebirge group has also made guest appearances outside of the Erzgebirge.

Erich Wunderwald gave the Ruppendorfer Ruinenspatzen an unmistakable character as head and talented, native dialect speaker.

In addition, Erich Wunderwald was also an active member of the district working group in dialect at the district cabinet for cultural work in Dresden and wrote several dialect poems and cheerful poems, which he performed himself in his programs. Some of them were set to music in dialect.
