Erigonoplus nobilis is a thermophilic spider from the family of canopy spiders (Linyphiidae). It is common in South Tyrol ( Italy ).
features
Erigonoplus nobilis reaches a length of 1.3 mm, of which the foreleg is about 0.5 mm. The greatest width of the foreleg is 0.46 mm. Males and females are blackish in color, the legs are yellowish.
This species is closely related to Erigonoplus jarmilae from Eastern Europe , especially in the genital organs there are no clear differences. The main difference is the shape of the male cephalothorax and its glandular pores, which are not present in Erigonoplus nobilis . In addition, the male of Erigonoplus jarmilae lacks the long hair on the tarsus and metatarsus of the first leg.
Locations and way of life
One location is a warm, dry (xerothermal) slope at 650 m altitude in the Riggertal near Neustift north of Brixen . Another place of discovery is the Vinschgauer Sonnenberg . The history of the catch suggests that the species is only active at certain times of the year (stenochronous). The main activity period is May and June.
