Gustaf Erik Lindorm , actually Jonsson (born July 20, 1889 in Stockholm , † January 30, 1941 ibid) was a Swedish writer , poet and publicist .

life and work

Gustaf Erik Lindorm was the son of a warehouse master and had to look after himself at an early age. He joined the Young Socialists and worked as a journalist. In 1913 he founded the joke newspaper Naggen , for which he worked until 1922. He then worked for Social Democrats from 1922 to 1923 and for the daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet from 1924 to 1932 . From 1930 he worked as a theater critic for the weekly magazine Vecko-Journalen .

Lindorm wrote biting social satires at first, but then turned into a representative of middle class between the wars. He also wrote wistful love poems and apolitical poetry , which attracts attention with their intimate, personal tone. His short stories were widely read and popular. He took the material for his folk comedies from the petty bourgeoisie and the proletariat, and in these works he traced human weaknesses in a sensitive and mocking manner.
