Erik Sagström (* 1983 in Linköping ) is a professional Swedish poker player . He is best known for his success in online poker , where he plays for large sums under the nickname Erik123 .

Career

Sagström got into poker when he discovered a poker site while surfing the internet. At the age of 17 he started playing on the online poker platform ParadisePoker . Sagström was later considered one of the best online players in Europe. He was also the player who initiated the poker room PokerChamps.comn alongside Gus Hansen and Tony G.

In May 2006, Sagström played three heads-up games against Liz Lieu for $ 200,000  each . Sagström lost the series 2-1. He played in various tournaments on the World Series of Poker , World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour . Nevertheless, he is best known for his online record. His greatest triumph was winning a World Championship of Online Poker tournament in August 2003 for over $ 100,000. Sagström also played for his country in the television tournaments Poker Nations Cup and PartyPoker.com Football & Poker Legends Cup . In February 2007 he opened his own poker site, Eric123.com , but it is no longer online.

In total, Sagström has earned over $ 800,000 in poker in live tournaments.
