Erik Schiesko

Erik Schiesko (born January 23, 1986 in Spremberg ) is a German filmmaker and director .

Life

Schiesko is a Cottbus- based filmmaker. In 2003 he founded the “KONTURProjekt”, initially a working group which organized concerts, brought out magazines, published CDs with music by Lusatian artists, but also carried out regional film productions. Finally, he increasingly focused on film productions under his own production company "KONTURProjekt".

At the age of 19 he shot his first music video with Patriot for the band "Ostmob" ( Ben Arnold and Ossi Ostler), which won the 5th  Cottbuser FilmSchau in 2007 at the 17th  Cottbus Film Festival . The short film he produced, Just a Short Moment (2010; Director: Clemens Schiesko) received an audience award and the award for the best technical implementation at the 8th Cottbus FilmSchau at the 20th Cottbus Film Festival. With his short application Schmellwitz (2010) he was nominated for the “Golden Goat” at the film festival of the same name at Gut Ogrosen in 2011 and was awarded a special prize at the 9th Cottbuser FilmSchau at the 21st Cottbus Film Festival.

His best-known productions include " Blue Hour" (2011; direction and screenplay) and " Holger und Hanna " (2013; production). Blue Hour is a 90-minute no-budget feature film that is available both on the Internet video platforms and in cinemas was successful.

Schiesko, who appeared as an actor at the Piccolo Theater Cottbus from 2004 to 2007, was also seen in the role of "Melchior" at the Cottbus State Theater in Spring Awakening in 2011 . He is co-founder of the "Network Lausitzer Filmmaker", which has been active since November 2015.
