Erik Wahlbergson

Erik Wahlbergson , originally Erik Wahlberg (born March 5, 1808 in Härkeberga near Enköping , Uppland , Sweden ; † October 18, 1865 in Konradsberg near Stockholm ), was a Swedish portrait , animal , history and landscape painter .

Life

Wahlbergson studied at the Stockholm Art Academy under Fredric Westin . In 1835 he was enrolled at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Since he went mad, he was sent to the asylum in Konradsberg, where he died in 1865.

Wahlbergson's pictures show landscapes, portraits, biblical and mythological subjects. For Drottningholm Palace he made a series of portraits of statesmen and military officials, mostly copies.
