Erika Belle (born January 20, 1956 in the Netherlands ) is a Dutch chess player .

Life

She won the Dutch women's championship in 1975, 1980 and 1981 and is a member of the Arnhemsche Schaakvereeniging . Belle took part in the interzonal women’s tournament in Bad Kissingen in 1982 and took eleventh place out of 16 participants with 5 points from 15 games.

Because of her international success, she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) from FIDE in 1982 .

From 1974 to 1984 Erika Belle competed in all chess Olympiads for the Dutch women's team.

She achieved the third best individual result on the third board in 1982 , the team's best placements were two fifth places in 1974 and 1976 .

More tournaments

In 1979 she won against Éva Karakas in the women's tournament in Naleczów . In 1989 she played the Dutch championship and in 2003 the Essent schaaktoernooi . Further tournaments in which she participated are the harmony tournaments in 2002 (First Zigurds Lanka ), 2003 (First Zhao Xue ), 2004 (First Oleksandr Areschtschenko ), 2005 and 2006. She also played at the Corus tournaments in Wijk aan Zee 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, as well as the Dutch Open from 2006 to 2009 in the Netherlands.
