Zhao Xue ( Chinese赵 雪; Zhào Xuě, born April 6, 1985 in Jinan , Shandong Province ) is a Chinese chess player . She has been the Women's Grand Master (WGM) since November 2000 and also a Grand Master (GM) since March 2008 .

Life

Zhao Xue was a student at Beijing University .

successes

In December 1997, she became the U12 girls ' world champion in Cannes by a whole point ahead of Tatjana Kossinzewa and Elisabeth Pähtz . She won the U14 girls' world championship in 1999 in Oropesa del Mar, Spain . In 2001 she was second behind K. Humpy at the Junior World Championship in Athens , in 2002 she won the Junior World Championship before K. Humpy, which was held in Panaji that year . In 2003 she won the Lady's Cup in Cannes by a large margin and nine points from nine games . In 2007 she won the Queens Chess women grandmaster tournament in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe , two points ahead of Elisabeth Pähtz. At the 2010 Asian Women's Championships in Guangzhou , she finished second behind Hou Yifan . She won the Grand Prix tournament in Nalchik in October 2011 with 9.5 points from 11 games, which corresponds to an Elo rating of 2828.

In February 2015 she ranks third behind Hou Yifan and Ju Wenjun in the Chinese women's ranking and eleventh in the women's world ranking. Her highest rating to date was 2579 in September and October 2013; she had her highest position on the FIDE world rankings for women in July and September 2009 and in October 2013 when she was in fourth place. In 2008 Zhao Xue was appointed grandmaster, she fulfilled the required standards at the 2006 Women's Chess Olympiad in Turin and in July 2007 at the North Urals Cup in Krasnoturyinsk .

National team

With the Chinese women's team, Zhao Xue has participated in all chess Olympiads since 2002 . She won with the team in 2002 and 2004 , finished second in 2010 , 2012 and 2014 and third in 2006. In the individual ranking she achieved the best result of the reserve players in 2002 as well as the best overall rating of all participants, in 2004 the best result on the third board and the third best rating of all participants, in 2006 the best rating of all participants and in 2012 the best result on the second board. In 2005 she took part in the World Team Championship . She won the women's team championship in all three participations with China in 2007, 2009 and 2011, and in 2007 she achieved the best result on the top board and the best rating of all participants, and in 2011 the best result on the third board. At the Asian Women's Team Championships, Zhao Xue played in China's second team in 1999, which came in second, and she won with China in 2008 and 2012. She also took second place in the Asian Games chess competitions in 2006 and won the 2010 Asian Games women chess competitions and the Asian Indoor Games chess competitions in 2007 and 2009.

In the Chinese team championship, she plays for the Beijing Patriots and became Chinese team champions with them in 2005 , 2006 , 2011 and 2015 . In 2008 she played in the Russian women's team championship for Spartak Widnoje , in 2009 on the top board of the first team of Economist-SGSEU Saratov . With Economist-SGSEU Saratov she took part in the European Women's Club Cup 2007, with Spartak Widnoje she came second a year later. In the German women's Bundesliga , Zhao has been playing for SC Bad Königshofen since the 2014/15 season .
