Zhou Jianchao (Chinese 周 健 超; Zhōu Jiànchāo, born June 11, 1988 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese chess master .

Life

Zhou Jianchao learned to play chess at the age of six. He won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1. – 3. Place at the Aeroflot Open B with an Elo rating of 2727 in Moscow (2005), 3rd – 8th place. Place at the 6th Asian Cup in Cebu City (2007). At the 2007 World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk , he defeated Emil Sutovsky 1.5: 0.5 in the first round and Andrij Wolokitin 4: 3 in the second round , but lost to Michael Adams in the third round with 0.5: 1 , 5 off. He finished 1st – 4th Place at the 7th Asian Cup in Subic (2008), the 2nd – 4th Place at the Chinese championship in Beijing (2008), 2nd place at the Lake Sevan tournament in Martuni (2008), 3rd – 9th place. Place at the Aeroflot Open A with an Elo rating of 2748 in Moscow (2009). At the World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk (2009) he continued in the first round against Rauf Məmmədov with 1.5: 0.5 and was eliminated in the second round against Vüqar Həşimov with 0.5: 1.5. In 2011 he took part in the World Cup again, but failed in the first round with 0-2 to Anton Korobow . In 2006 he was appointed grandmaster , he fulfilled the required standards in February 2005 at the Aeroflot Open in Moscow, in April 2005 at the Dubai Open and in February 2006 at the Aeroflot Open in Moscow.

National team

Zhou Jianchao took part in the 2010 Chess Olympiad with the Chinese team , and at the 2005 World Team Championship he had two appearances as a reserve player in the Chinese team, which took second place. He won the Asian team championship in 2008 with China, in 2012 he played in the second Chinese team, which would have taken third place but was out of competition. In addition, Zhou won the 2010 Asian Games chess competition with China .

In the Chinese team championship, Zhou Jianchao played for Shanghai until 2017 , with whom he became team champions in 2008 , 2009 , 2012 , 2016 and 2017 . In 2018 he played for Shenzhen . With Shanghai, Zhou also took part in the Asian Club Cup 2014, where he achieved the third-best result on the top board. At the Asian Club Cup 2008 he achieved second place with the Qi Yuan Club and at the same time won the individual ranking on the second board.
