Erika Herbst (born March 25, 1925 in Nuremberg ) is a German medical journalist and esotericist who, in her commitment to alternative health policy by founding the party “ Die Mündigen Bürger ”, took part in the federal election in 1987 , in the European elections in 1984 and 1989 and in various state elections involved.

The citizens' campaign "Progress for All", which she founded in the 1970s, published numerous articles on alternative diagnostic and healing methods, as well as on the topics of environmental protection and animal welfare , in the quarterly magazine of the same name .

The "self-help group responsible citizens" initiated by her is now in its 3rd edition published "The solution to the cancer problem - the healing art of tomorrow - other help and taboos", in which the positions of the "self-help group" with "contraceptive medicine" are summarized.

In the 1970s, through the citizens' campaign “Progress for All”, it issued series of double-sided leaflets with a uniform layout. These dealt with health aspects such as building biology and radiesthesia (sensitivity to earth radiation ), but also questions of radiation exposure through the use of atomic energy .

She criticized the media's "dishonest information policy". So she devoted - quoting and promulgating the trade journal " Der Journalist " 12/73 - an entire leaflet to the depiction of the short-term cancellation of the television film "Citizens Against Atomic Power Plants" on October 23, 1973 by program director Werner Höfer . The broadcast was forced six weeks later by massive pressure from opponents of the nuclear power plant.

It also promoted alternative energy generation, for example on the project of a solar-hydrogen power plant, presented in 1973 by the former rector of the TU Braunschweig, Prof. Eduard Justi .

For the 1976 federal election she ran as a direct candidate in the constituency 228 Erlangen for the 5% bloc , an electoral alliance of right-wing extremist political groups.
