The commemorative medal for the earthquake in Calabria and Sicily ( it. Medaglia commemorativa del terremoto in Calabria e Sicilia ) was an award of the Kingdom of Italy , which on May 6, 1909 by decree by King Victor Emanuel III. in memory of the earthquake in Messina next to the medal "For services to the relief organization in the earthquake in Calabria and Sicily" was donated in one step.

Appearance and wearing style

The obverse of the silver medal is exactly the same as the medal “For services to the aid organization during the earthquake in Calabria and Sicily” . The reverse , on the other hand, shows the four-line embossed inscription within a closed laurel wreath with fruits: Medaglia / commemorativa / terremoto / Calabro-Siculo / 28 December / 1908 (memorial to the Calabrian-Sicilian earthquake on December 28, 1908).

The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest of the borrower on a green band with a white border in the middle of which a narrow white vertical central stripe is woven.
