List of earthquakes in Indonesia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of earthquakes in Indonesia is a list of major earthquakes that have occurred in Indonesia in a historically documented time, especially in the recent past. Indonesia is a state in a seismically active region and is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire at the subduction zone in which the Australian plate is pushed under the Eurasian plate or under the Sunda plate . This location often leads to strong earthquakes in the region.
