Erna Blaas

Erna Blaas (* 19th February 1895 in Kirchdorf an der Krems , † 8. September 1990 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian poetry - author .

Live and act

She was a doctor's wife who was widowed at an early age and lived in Salzburg from 1928. Blaas made National Socialist propaganda with some poems in the 1930s , belonged to the Association of German Writers in Austria and joined the NSDAP in 1938 . She became a member of the Reichsschrifttumskammer . Her poetry was included in the major German national magazines and publications. After the Second World War , some of her works were on the list of banned authors and books for several years .

She was one of those authors who, despite being recognized by the National Socialists, could very quickly be reintegrated into the literary world.

She was a member of the Innviertel Artists' Guild , the Austrian Writers' Association 66 and the Upper Austrian Writers' Circle.
