Ernest "Ernie" Crutchlow (born November 6, 1948 , Nuneaton , Warwickshire ) is a former British cyclist who was primarily active as a track sprinter .

Athletic career

Crutchlow was British amateur sprint champion four times in a row from 1970 to 1973 . In 1974 he won the national tandem title with Geoff Cooke and also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games with the same partner . After moving to the pros , he became the British sprint champion in 1980.

Crutchlow took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , where he was eliminated in the second round of the sprint tournament against Jürgen Geschke .
