Nuneaton and Bedworth is an administrative district with borough status in the county of Warwickshire in England . It consists of the towns of Nuneaton (administrative seat) and Bedworth and the village of Bulkington . City partnerships exist with Cottbus in Germany, Guadalajara in Spain and Roanne in France.
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was the result of the merger of the Municipal Borough Nuneaton and the Urban District Bedworth (to which Bulkington also belonged). Initially the district was called Borough of Nuneaton ; however, after complaints from the residents of Bedworth, the name was changed in 1980.
