Ernest Howard Griffiths

Ernest Howard Griffiths (born June 15, 1851 in Brecon , Wales , † March 3, 1932 ) was a British physicist . On his mother's side, he was descended from the British Admiral Robert Blake . He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1895. In 1907 he won the Hughes Medal for his services to exact physical measurements ("for his contributions to exact physical measurement").

Griffiths became the director of the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire , Cardiff (today: Cardiff University ) in 1901 . He received a professorship in experimental philosophy. He was a Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford in 1905, 1909, 1913 and 1917.
