Ernie Hammes (born August 18, 1968 in Esch-sur-Alzette ) is a Luxembourgish trumpeter specializing in jazz and classical music .

Live and act

Hammes studied classical trumpet at the Conservatoire in Esch-sur-Alzette and Metz and jazz in New York City at the Manhattan School of Music . In the following years he gave concerts with numerous international music greats in their live bands, for example Paul Anka , Chaka Khan or the Duke Ellington Orchestra ( Ghost Band ). From 1987 he played with the Luxembourg military music. In 1993 he founded the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra. Since 1994 he has been leading the big band of the Luxembourg army. In the field of jazz he was involved in six recording sessions between 1997 and 2010. a. with Derrick James , Diane Schuur , David Liebman / Brussels Jazz Orchestra and Amina Figarova .
