Ernst Fischer (born June 2, 1894 in Dresden , † July 19, 1967 in Flensburg ) was a German naval officer, most recently a sea captain , and an honorary member of the People's Court .

Life

Fischer joined the Imperial Navy in his youth .

Around 1934 Fischer became an honorary member of the People's Court.

From August 1937 to December 1939, Fischer was in command of the 10th Ship Main Division; in this position he was promoted to sea captain on January 1, 1939. He was then from December 1939 to July 1940 chief of the Stettin naval service , from July 1940 to January 1941 chief of the Calais naval service and then until December 1941 sea ​​commander Calais.

After he was assigned to the Admiral of the Naval Command until January 1942, Fischer was chief of the 18th landing flotilla until April 1942. He then officiated in the period from April to October 1942 as head of the Naval Command Group I for the western region with its headquarters in Antwerp , before he was Chief of Staff at the Admiral's Naval Command until January 1943.

From March to November 1943 Fischer was a naval liaison officer to the Army High Command in Lapland . In November 1943 to January 1944 he was made available to the Naval High Command East . In the last year of the war, from January 1944 to May 1945, Fischer was staff captain at the Mürwik Naval School in Flensburg- Mürwik .

When the war ended Fischer fell into Allied captivity from which he was released in March 1946th
