Ernst Hartmann von Franzenshuld

Ernst Hartmann von Franzenshuld , also Ernst Edler von Franzenshuld or Ernst von Hartmann-Franzenshuld (born September 4, 1840 in Vienna , † May 26, 1884 ibid) was an Austrian heraldist and numismatist .

Ernst Hartmann von Franzenshuld was the grandson of the Austrian surgeon and military doctor Johann Hartmann (* around 1775, † around 1848), who was raised to the Austrian hereditary nobility in 1834 as "Edler von Franzenshuld".

After studying from 1859 to 1863 and completing his doctorate , Ernst Hartmann von Franzenshuld was curator at the coin and antiquity cabinet in Vienna from 1870 . In the summer of 1860 he toured the valley of the lower Danube as well as some cities in northern Bulgaria ( Vidin , Ruse ) and Wallachia . In 1870 he founded the Heraldic-Genealogical Society Adler in Vienna.
