Ernst Hintzmann senior
Ernst Hintzmann (born November 20, 1853 in Mohrdorf near Stralsund , † July 13, 1913 in Elberfeld ) was a German politician, senior secondary school director in Elberfeld and father of the politician of the same name Ernst Hintzmann .
Life
Ernst Hintzmann was born in Mohrdorf near Stralsund in 1853 as the son of Pastor E. Hintzmann. From 1868 to 1872 he attended the Marienstiftsgymnasium in Stettin and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Berlin, before starting to study natural sciences, mathematics, physics and theology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in the summer semester of 1872 . In the same year he joined the Holzminda fraternity .
After the exam and the doctorate in 1876, on the way to the upper secondary school director in Elberfeld, he worked at the high school (1876) and the secondary school (1878) in Malchin (Mecklenburg), at the secondary school (1880) in Remscheid and at the secondary school (1887) in Magdeburg. In 1890 he became director of the newly opened secondary school in Magdeburg. He then took up his position as director in Elberfeld in 1894.
During his time in Magdeburg he joined the Natural Science Association Magdeburg , where he was chairman for several years. From 1900 to 1909 he was a member of the Elberfeld city council, since 1900 on the board of directors of the Neviandt Scholarship Foundation and since 1904 in the health commission. Furthermore, he was chairman of the association for higher education without Latin , chairman of the annual meeting of the upper secondary school directors and chairman of the Elberfeld association of friends of evangelical freedom .
Ernst Hintzmann was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency 255 Düsseldorf (SK Elberfeld, SK Barmen 2) and the National Liberal Party from 1908 until his death .
He died in Elberfeld in 1913.
