history
Velké Hostěrádky was first mentioned in a document in 1210, when Lev von Klobouk gave the village and other places to the Obrowitz (Zábrdovice) monastery near Brno , which he founded. The owners of Velké Hostěrádky changed frequently. A part of the goods belonged in the middle of the 14th century to the Vladiken von Hostěhrádek, whose festivals were west of the village on the hill Hradisko near Časkovec. In the 17th century the Liechtensteiners acquired the goods and added them to their rule of Ždánice . Until the middle of the 19th century, Velké Hostěrádky always remained submissive to Ždánice.
After the abolition of patrimonial Hrubé Hostěrádky / Groß Hostieradek formed from 1850 a market town in the district administration Auspitz . At the end of the 19th century the place was also called Velké Hostěhrádky . After the district town of Auspitz was added to the German Reich in 1938 as a result of the Munich Agreement , Velké Hostěrádky was assigned to the political district of Brno-Land and the judicial district of Seelowitz between 1938 and 1949 . In 1948 the municipality became part of the Slavkov Okres. After its abolition, Velké Hostěrádky was assigned to the Okres Břeclav in 1961.
Velké Hostěrádky consists of around 200 houses, 160 of which are permanently used for residential purposes.
