history
Archaeological finds prove that the municipality has been settled since the Neolithic Age .
The village was probably founded in the middle of the 13th century. The first written mention of Woyanowicz was on April 9, 1298 in the confirmation document of Wenceslas II about the donation of a Hube of land by the Brno citizen Gerbot for the construction of the Church of the Virgin Mary. In the 14th century, the Vladiken von Bojanovice can be traced as the owners of the goods. In 1365 Wilhelm von Kunstadt bought a part of Bojanovice on Boleradice , and Wilhelm I. von Pernstein already bought another part at that time . In 1464 the attribute superior was used for the first time to distinguish it from another village Bojanovice . Hynek von Kunstadt auf Polná was probably the last owner of the Kunstadt family from 1503. In 1511 all Bojanovice belonged to Wilhelm II of Pernstein . He transferred Bojanovice together with the rule Židlochovice to his son Johann in 1515 . In 1551 Jan Bernard and Bohuš Drnovský from Drnovice bought the property. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1622, the goods of Johanka Drnovský and her husband Georg Ehrenreich von Roggendorf on Kanitz were confiscated and sold to Cardinal Franz Seraph von Dietrichstein . In 1626 Stephan Schmidt von Freyhofen bought Bojanovice. He had to sell his property to Heinrich Graf Schlick in 1631 due to excessive indebtedness . The following owners were from 1637 the Zahrádecký von Zahrádka, from 1677 Johann Karl Count Serényi, from 1723 the barons Bukuvky von Bukuvka and from 1807 the Pagatsch von Paburg family. Viticulture found its way into the first half of the 19th century. Horní Bojanovice always remained an independent estate until the middle of the 19th century.
After the abolition of patrimonial Horní Bojanovice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Auspitz . After the Okres Hustopeče was abolished, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Břeclav in 1960. Since 1997 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner.
