Ernst Hofmann

Ernst Hofmänner (born May 25, 1916 in Buchs ; † November 6, 2005 in Sevelen , reformed , resident in Buchs and Sevelen) was a Swiss writer .

Life

Ernst Hofmänner was born on May 25, 1916 in Buchs, the son of the postman and farmer Georg Hofmänner. He received his school education in Buchs and Trey . He then worked as a farmer in his father's business in Buchs before buying a farm in Sevelen. In addition, Hofmänner worked as a local journalist for the newspaper "Werdenberger & Obertoggenburger" from 1972 onwards , and from 1976 he was self-employed.

Ernst Hofmänner married Katharina, the daughter of the carpenter Leonhard Schlegel, in 1942 . He died on November 6, 2005 at the age of 89 in Sevelen.

Act

Ernst Hofmänner emerged as the author of travel reports , diary entries, poems in Werdenberg dialect and short stories. He also worked as a chronicler for local associations.
