The Werdenberg district was an administrative unit of the Canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland from 1831 to the end of 2002 . The district with the main town Buchs SG comprised six political communities . It was created in 1831 by dividing the previous Sargans district into the Werdenberg district and the "new" Sargans district. Since 2003 it has formed the Werdenberg constituency .
