Ernst Hottenroth

Ernst Joseph Hottenroth (born March 12, 1872 in Frankfurt am Main , † February 27, 1908 in Dresden ) was a German sculptor .

Hottenroth was born the son of the sculptor Joseph Hottenroth . He took up his father's profession and initially worked in Berlin as a stonemason under Otto Lessing on the plastic decoration of the Reichstag building , later as an assistant in a stucco workshop, for which he independently directed ornamental work at the New Marstall in Berlin and at the Central Theater in Dresden. Hottenroth went into business for himself in Dresden and supplied the plastic jewelry for numerous buildings.

Hottenroth last lived in the house at Dürerplatz 3 in Dresden. He died here in 1908 and was buried in the Old Catholic Cemetery in Dresden's Friedrichstadt .
